When facing the end of the world, it’s important to have good booze, a good friend, and a great soundtrack.

Set in the days leading up to the year 2000, Kelly and Miguel find themselves facing mounting pressures and the harsh realities of their futures. Kelly (Katy Erin), living off the inheritance she received after her parents died, hits the booze and drugs hard. As her money runs out and the consequences of her actions begin to catch up with her, Kelly has to figure out how to live life on her terms. Miguel (Michael Lovato), is torn between his immigrant parent’s expectations of his life and his dream of becoming a comedian. The pressure to make his dreams come true while defying the sacrifices his parent’s made for him push Miguel to the brink.

Both an homage to 90’s films and the indie film revolution of the time, MILLENNIUM BUGS is a love letter to a generation that found themselves on the cusp of a technological revolution that was both exciting and uncharted. This film speaks to anyone who has ever felt broken, pressured, or lost and carries with the universal and timeless desire for good friends, good laughs, and great tunes.

MILLENNIUM BUGS is the second feature film from director Alejandro Montoya Marin.
